Out of Analogue Comes Digital.

There is something just seriously cool about music cassettes. At least, there is if you are old enough to remember using them…

And here is a nifty little gadget for the old and sad (like myself). It is a 64MB USB Stick. ‘That’s not so unusual’ I hear you say. Well, this one is because it actually fits into the back of a specially designed dummy tape. Now that is a cunning way to bring that 60s, 70s or 80s cool into this century and survive.

If you think about it, 64MB will store around an hour’s worth of music. And that is the same amount as you would have got on a C-60 music cassette. Whoever designed this gadget has a wonderful attention to detail and a good sense of humour because the dummy tape that holds the USB stick is a C-60. Hence, this gives you the maximum ability of ‘keeping it real’!

Why go out and just buy a bog standard pen drive when you can get something as stylish as this? Not only that, but you can also add your own song titles as well. The ‘cassette’ fits into an authentic looking case and it has the obligatory inlay card as well.

If you have any audio cassettes standing around on a shelf, then this could actually be a very secure way of storing private data as well. Should you have any personal documents that need to be kept in a safe place then this would be a very worthwhile option… Most modern intruders would not think of wasting their time looking through old music tapes, would they?

The ‘Mix Tape USB Stick’ is one of the most unusual gadgets that I have come across for quite some time. What a very clever idea it is!
