Crazy Man With The Torch

There’s a hill near me where you can look out on the city at night; the only hill in miles around, the kind of place where you can be sure that at almost any time, you will be alone…

One day when I was desperate to get some photos for my sixth form project—and had the incredibly inventive idea of taking photographs of the moon—I went to the hill at 3a.m. in the morning; it was a full moon, the night clear as crystal: the perfect time to create the finest photographs that any sixth former had ever seen (almost–)

After twenty minutes of this—getting cold to the point I could barely press the shutter button—I noticed a strange light up the hill; it looked like a flash-light had been attached to a balloon which had gone pop, squirming about in the air. That doesn’t look quite right, I thought, there are no balloons here–Not on this hill. I quickly grabbed my gear and darted into the undergrowth: the light was getting closer all the time–something–or someone–was on the hill with me, doing something which to me seemed nothing less than insane and demonic.

I crouched in the undergrowth for twenty five minutes as this person, or thing, ran around on the hill in front of me. That was when I dropped the camera and it made a crunch as it hit the floor. The light stopped moving. I held my breath. Then, very slowly, the beam ambled across the grass towards me. I hid with my hand over my mouth to dull my panic–still unable to see the unknown assailant.

The next time I opened my eyes the light was disappearing back up the hill, the man—if that was who it was—running at speed. I grabbed my stuff, packed it away, and set off back down the hill with sweat pouring down my back.

I’d like to say it was worth it but, alas, everyone seems to take pictures of the moon. If I’d have got a photo of the crazy thing, I might have stood a better chance.

Quick thing, I have just looked at the design for this hr software webpage and I feel I should say in my web trained opinion it is incredably eye-catching. I was having quite a strenuous time actually finding any facts and figures however, which made me wonder what is more critical, eye-appeal or usability? Why is it that some sites arent actually able to do both?
